I made this while my parents were visiting last year. My mom made one too and we were really excited about them.
All you have to do is select coordinating papers and measure and cut them into squares. You could make the squares any size. Them you embelish them however you want.
The three green squares with the black birds on them are just rub-ons. Make sure you lay the squares right next to each other before you add the rub-ons, them move them apart. The pale yellow square in the top right corner is embossed using my
Cuttlebug and then the raised image is colored with a
VersaMark pen. You can use stamps, rub-ons, metal embelishments, paper stitching or just leave the patterned paper plain.
The purple square in the top left corner is one of my favorites, it's just patterened paper topped with the purple square with a circle cut out. I used
Pop Dots to make the purple paper stand up off the paper. I also used Pop Dots on the yellow square on the bottom row. I cut the flowers and leaves out of patterened paper and made the flower pop off the paper. The yellow square on the top row is embelished with a chip board swirl that I colored brown by pressing it into my ink pad, simple!
Just remember, there are no rules to crafting except if you aren't having fun you aren't doing it right!
